Good friday everyone,
Have you ever created a new initiative in Planio without having readily available icons and logo? If so, you probably already know this icon:
![]()
Yep, you’ve recognized it, the plain, default boring icon when your project doesn’t have any… The problem with this icon is that when all your projects have the default icon, it’s pretty hard to visually identify projects at a glance on a crammed page.. For instance look at this dashboard screenshot.
Well, pretty confusing if you ask me. To solve this problem, we are rolling out identicons. Identi-what? Identicons! According to wikipedia, itenticons are:
An Identicon is a visual representation of a hash value, [...] serving to identify a user of a computer system; compare avatars. [...] A visual representation is thought to be easier to compare than one which uses only numbers.
In brief, it’s a random image guaranteed to have unique visual feature to be easily distinguishable among other identicons. Here are a couple of random identicons.

So now, your dashboard page looks more like.
Identicons are coming to Planio’s initiative without their own icon today so watch your dashboards for this new addition. As always, feel free to use the feedback button to report anything you think could be further improved.
